in passing is the latest exhibition running at The Kickplate Project's Hanbury Road Gallery in Bargoed. Featuring Russian artist, photographer, printer and poet Andrew Pershin from Rostov-on-Don near the Sea of Azov. Work on display illustrates his specialism in analogue photography and use of traditional printing techniques such as lith prints and the RA4 colour process, often experimenting with expired film and paper, allowing him to create subtle hues and rich textures.

Pershin uses analogue techniques to portray his perception of nature: with trees and landscapes shaped by the seasons, changing colours and light - some of them more abstract than real, and other showing the harmony of natural lines and shapes.

You can view a selection of Andrew’s photography on his Deviant Art page.
