We've got a great monthly #ffotonsocial lined up for March!
After hearing in December that our friends at Welsh Independent TV Production company Rondo Media had won the 2016 Hollywood International Independent Documentary Award for best foreign feature with their film on Welshman and Magnum photographer Philip Jones Griffiths, we asked them if we could do a special screening of the film for the photographers in South Wales. Happily, they agreed - and they've provided us with a special screening copy first shown at London's Frontline Club before the film's first transmission on Welsh Broadcaster S4C. The film starts at 7.30pm, so get there early to grab a seat.
After the screening, we'll continue with a relaxed evening of photography talk, networking other photographers (students, enthusiasts and professionals), some local news and get introduced to other photographers work by looking at photobooks and Zines that people bring along. If you have a photobook (by another photographer or even examples of your own work) you'd like to show others, bring it along - we'd love to see it!
This month, we're trying a funky City Centre venue just off St. Mary Street and easy to find (and has it's own bar!)...
Upstairs in 10ft Tall (AKA- 'The Big Top')
11A-12 Church St, Cardiff CF10 1BG
(off St. Mary Street heading towards The Hayes. Head towards St John The Baptist Church and the venue is on your right)
Access is through the front entrance, we'll be upstairs and all we ask is £3 per person to help cover event costs.
Our Photography Socials will take place:
3rd Thursday of each month, 7 - 11pm
Join us from 7pm Thursday 16th March to help create a buzzing monthly social scene for photographers to meet, share work, ideas and develop photography in Wales!
