Following a really insightful and brilliantly delivered presentation by Steve Gray last month on his 'Borderland' project and resulting self-published book (which sold out on the night!), we've asked two local photographers to give a short 20-30 minute presentation on work and activities keeping them inspired and busy of late. As always, there will be an opportunity to ask questions after each talk.
Inside the Outside Collective
Rob will be talking about forming the Inside the Outside landscape photography collective a little over a year ago, what their aims are and what they've achieved so far.
He'll also talk about his personal approach to landscape photography and the idea of telling the story of the people through the landscape, and the role of imagination in photography. He'll finish up with a few ideas and suggestions for the future of landscape photography in this carbon sensitive, ecologically damaged era, and why we should be celebrating our local environments.
Glenn will be talking about a new, ongoing set of images that depict the darker side of life. The project involves members of his own family and close friends. After taking a mini break from photography he decided to create whatever ideas came to mind without worrying about social media 'likes'!
Glenn has been aiming to create a project/exhibition that excites him everyday and allows him to have creative freedom.
If you have a project underway or just completed that you'd like to share and give a short presentation on at a future #ffotonsocial event - drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with some information or speak to one of the Ffoton team at an event.
