Cuba brings Colour to Brecon.
CUBA NOTICED - a collection of photographs from Cuba, full of vibrant colour, teeming with life and celebrating a different kind of society.
The story of Richard Greatrex’s CUBA NOTICED images begins on a train opposite a girl, daydreaming. It was round her neck… a medal? On it Ché, an icon….
Richard - a Cinematographer (Director of Photography) for 30 years, shot many projects including over 40 movies and TV dramas. He was responsible for the cinematography on films such as Knight’s Tale, Mrs Brown and Shakespeare in Love. A four-time BAFTA nominee, he won the coveted award for A Woman in White and was nominated for an Oscar for Shakespeare in Love.
Richard’s Cuba Noticed project forms the main stills photography component of a new group exhibition at Found Gallery in Brecon. Ffoton caught up with him in his home town of Hay-on Wye to find out more about the project. Listen below…

Vibrant Finds will also include the traditionally woven throws by Rhian Wyman with the colours of the exhibition all complimented by jewellery from Somerset based jeweller, Clare Lloyd. Found Gallery also welcomes back artist Phillip Ross to this exhibition.
