Returning to the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff after his showing of 'Cardiff before Cardiff' back in 2012, photographer Jon Pountney has a new body of Welsh Valleys work.

The images on show are described as representing:

"...a place of fascinating contrasts, startling deprivation, and endemic under-achievement. Looking inside the heart of this consensus of decline, it is easily possible to create an alternative narrative to the glib veneer masking the failure to replace the heavy industries which brought people to the area."

'Something Must Be Done' is a free exhibition running 9 May – 9 June on Level 1 of the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.
