As part of its commitment to fostering European partnerships and the two year project A Woman’s Work, Ffotogallery is delighted to present a new exhibition called Work to Be Done, curated by the Finnish duo Whack ‘n’ Bite.

The exhibition explores the shifting relationship between home and the workplace, and how many jobs traditionally associated with men are now being done by women, and vice versa. The exhibition features the work of five Nordic artists:

Beta Bajgart – ‘A Woman’s Work’ tells the stories of 60 women who have chosen a career path in unusual and predominantly male professions
Johan Bävman – ‘Swedish Dads’ looks at fathers who choose to stay at home with their children
Katrīna Neiburga – ‘Traffic’ is about a woman who becomes a taxi driver, travelling around the suburbs, talking to her passengers and listening to their stories
Mikko Suutarinen – ‘Truckers’ features women who have taken the job of a truck driver, carrying goods, loading and unloading the cargo, and taking care of the transport documents.
Nella Nuora – ‘Midwife’ follows Mikko Tarvonen who works as a midwife and knows how to deliver a child safely into the world and reassure parents in an exciting situation.
